The Utah State Poetry Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the creation and appreciation of poetry. While the major activities focus on writing, members are encouraged to read and listen to highly regarded poetry from the past as well as to a wide range of contemporary poetry.
If you are a lover of poetry and/or an aspiring poet, you will be rewarded in many ways by membership in the Utah State Poetry Society.

Participate in workshops and critiques by qualified poets.
Receive the National Federation of State Poetry Societies quarterly newsletter.
Members meet in chapters around Utah to share, read, and give suggestions for improvement for each others' poems as well as learn about poetry and techniques. UTSPS members are automatically members of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies (nfsps.com) which offers connections with poets all over the U.S.
The 12th annual Poetry In the Park (PIP) workshop will be held Friday March 5th, 2021, in Zion Park. Workshop leader to be announced at a later date. For details and how to register, see the Poetry In the Park site.

For over 70 years the Utah State Poetry Society has been an organization dedicated to the creation and appreciation of poetry.
Sponsored by C. Cameron Johns, the first president, six charter members founded the Utah State Poetry Society on May 6, 1950. On October 18, 1963, the Society was incorporated under the laws of the State of Utah.
